Hatefulness Without Prejudice, Workplace/Adult Bullying

Hatefulness Without Prejudice, Workplace/Adult Bullying. By ABC-AntiBullyingCrusador

I am in my 50s and have never been affected by prejudice as a child or as an adult where I live in the state of Connecticut.  I have not been spared from hatefulness however and have learned about one of the most painful types of hatefulness there is.  It is hatefulness without prejudice, a hatefulness for no reason at all, referred to as "bullying". Children deal with school yard bullies who steal their lunch money and push them in the mud while adults are faced with a more serious version.

I first experienced adult bullying on my job, which is referred to as "workplace bullying".  It was a job that I loved and thrived in for over 25 years, finally forced out by a "serial bully boss" after 30 years.   Adults can be bullied by just about anyone, sometimes people they least expect, like a new neighbor or a new pastor at their church. The most likely places to find workplace bullying is in education, health care and in any of the "helping professions".

By "bully", I don't mean just the arrogant and the rude, but those with a level of psychopathy, having physical or emotional mental disorders which compels them to behave in this way. Bullies are thought to feel a type of satisfaction, and enjoy causing others emotional distress.  They actually plan emotional assaults against their targets.  Many bullies are incapable of feeling empathy or suffer from feelings of inadequacy and shame brought on by harsh early childhood experiences. The best performers may be targeted for this reason.  Bullies cannot be reasoned with because there is no real reason for the abuse other than the bullies whim or need to subjugate, control or even eliminate from a group, or cause others to shun the target.

Targets of  bullying are rarely believed and are faced with denial at every turn because hatefulness for no reason, just doesn't make sense. This type of hatefulness leaves no physical scars, only the emotional distress of a target who becomes obsessed searching for the reasons why suddenly someone they trusted, would turn against them and manipulate others against them as well. Family, friends and bystanders become more skeptical by the targets emotional distress, while the reasons that targets obsessively search for, simply don't exist.

I was brought up to be proud to be an American and was taught that our country of the equal and the free, is a place where any child can dream of, and actually become president some day.  Being a girl, I knew this was not true.  Prejudice, although never mentioned, made this dream a lie to all but white, Christian, boys.  The last two presidential elections, has finally made this dream a reality, for both girls and children of color . This is a positive sign that prejudice, a terrible type of hatefulness, is losing against the increasingly popular consensus that all people are created equal.

Can we really beat Workplace/adult bullying, a hatefulness without prejudice or reason?  It's my belief that we can.

Let's learn to Recognize it, name it, and end workplace/adult bullying together!

Barron Trump Bullied! How Real Bullies Think!

Barron Trump Bullied!  How REAL Bullies Think!

Of interest, is another perspective of Barron's bullying incident, published by the Business Insider, Titled, "Barron Trump Being Slammed For His Casual Wardrobe - But it's a Brilliant Political" Move"

The content in the partially quoted article below, is interesting in that it is an example of the way REAL bullies think, reason and talk.

Barron is semi-frequently photographed walking across the White House's South Lawn with his family as they return from trips around the country. He's usually seen in a shirt from J. Crew's kid's line, and he has even been pictured with a fidget spinner and a backpack!

Most would read this behavior as a kid being a kid. Chelsea Clinton, who was only a few years older than Barron when her father, Bill Clinton, was president, tweeted in support of the youngest Trump
Still, it's hard to believe, considering how orchestrated politics in the US is today, that no thought would go into the outfits Barron wears when he steps off Marine One. It's more likely his clothes are picked to make him seem like a normal, everyday kid with accessible clothing, and make him less of a focus of op-eds such as the one from The Daily Caller.

Using clothes to drive a narrative isn't a new political tactic, but it may be a sign that the Trumps are getting more accustomed to being under such a bright national spotlight under which nearly all their moves are scrutinized. Fairly or not, the clothing items that political figures wear are often dissected and evaluated for meaning.

The Obamas, especially Michelle, often employed this tactic and received positive press for wearing a wide variety of affordable clothing, including pieces from Target and J. Crew. Michelle also wore Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, and many lesser-known designers to more-formal events

(Continued) Discussion in the partially quoted article above, is interesting in that it is an example of the way REAL bullies think and reason.

Did anyone notice while reading the article, how differently minded the author seemed?

If you didn't, don't worry. There's a little bit more to learn, about adults, who are correctly referred to as "bullies", before it all comes together.

Starting with the basics, adults who are correctly referred to as a "bully", are people with a "level of psychopathy".  These are people who lack or have a diminished ability to feel empathy for other people.  Instead, they feel a type of satisfaction over the misfortune of others.  This is what I mean by "REAL bully".  By "level of psychopathy" I'm referring to a spectrum of severity, in which psychopathy is experienced.  The worst, totally lacking caring emotions.

One of the strangest things about REAL bullies, especially the intelligent "successful psychopaths", is that normal, caring people, rarely notice when the things they say or write, (like this article), reveals a very different slant on things.

Successful psychopaths are smart enough to know that they think differently than others. Some of them view the emotion of others as a weakness and their own lack of caring feelings as an advantage.

Others
, view this difference as something horrible about themselves, as well they should. Whether it be a logical belief of Christian morality or the man made letter of the law, most stay on the right side of both, seemingly normal in every way.

The vast majority in my opinion, may be low on the psychopathy spectrum, or are deeply influenced in some other ways, and are never really thought of as "psychopathic", neither by themselves', or by others. Most overcome that impression, by a steadfastness and adherence to socially acceptable and beneficial behaviors and activities within their communities.  These are  the Moms and Dads who work full time jobs, then run P.T.A. meetings or are sports coaches or scout leaders.  Many earn the coveted impression of being pillars of society. When it is all said and done, the original depth of one's benevolence, really doesn't matter.

Unable to fully experience caring emotions and passions of their own, Real bullies carefully orchestrate their lives, some in great detail. They mimic the normal emotions of others and portray an image of their choosing.

Things like their clothes are thought of as being so much more than just something to wear. They view their clothes, makeup, accessories and most of their belongings, as props in a play. All of these things are needed, but are not used in ways that most people expect. Most everything instead is used to support the lie of their artificial persona.

Normally minded people regard their clothes, appearance and material possessions in a more practical way. Having a real persona, born of genuine affections and moral convictions, things like clothes and appearance, are put in their proper perspective.

Most of us, like the President and his family, think of their clothes,.. well,... as their clothes. Adults in our society do better, when they go along with various mores about level of formality and to a lesser degree, morality. Children, whether presidential or not, do better in this society, and therefore are driven to wear, what every other kid wears.

Now back to the article;

The article starts with a description of Barron's casual attire. The author then starts the next paragraph with a statement;

Most would read this behavior as a kid being a kid.

The article continues suggesting that by Chelsea Clinton's support of Barron, that she too dressed as a kid being a kid, when her father was president. The author's statement reveals that the author, isn't one of the "most" who believe it. The author, being so differently minded restates their disbelief,  "Still, it's hard to believe" unable to grasp that Chelsea Clinton or anyone for that matter, dresses casually just because they want to, or they are just kids, being kids.

Then, like Real bullies everywhere, they flipped everything around in the most ridiculous way! Instead of believing the obvious, that Barron is a normal, everyday kid who dresses like one, this is what is thought instead-

C
onsidering how orchestrated politics in the US is today, that no thought would go into the outfits Barron wears when he steps off Marine One.  It's more likely his clothes are picked to make him seem like a normal, everyday kid with accessible clothing, and make him less of a focus of op-eds such as the one from The Daily Caller.

UNBELIEVABLE! - And MOST people didn't think twice!

The author then gives a great example of the complicated way that Real bullies think about things like their clothes below-

The article is then finished off, by projecting this whole messy clothes thing on the ,,,,,

...Obamas, especially Michelle, often employed this tactic and received positive press for wearing a wide variety of affordable clothing, including pieces from Target and J. Crew. Michelle also wore Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, and many lesser-known designers to more-formal events.

Nothing says it like their own words, if we just take a moment and listen, or read it twice!

Bullying Against Barron Trump, Clothes-Shaming

Bullying Against Barron Trump, Clothes-Shaming.                  By ABC-AntiBullyingCrusador

-Melania Makes Heartbreaking Statement About Barron Trump Getting Bullied-
By; World News Politics -link to original full content and photographs. Partially quoted below.

A recent post from the conservative blog The Daily Caller called out Barron for what the author said was his too-casual style.

Writer Ford Springer had wrote that Barron returning to the White House from New Jersey Sunday with the First Lady and the President. He said that Barron appeared to be boarding Air Force One to take a trip to the movies, not the White.

Springer said that “the youngest Trump doesn’t have any responsibilities as the president’s son, but the least he could do is dress the part when he steps out in public”.

Melania Trump finally has had enough. Enough of the bullying her 11-year-old child Barron faces on a daily basis from just about everyone.

So it is a heartbreaking day in America when the First Lady has to come out and thank none other than Chelsea Clinton for coming to defend Barron from attacks, which actually came from a very conservative news outlet.

And the loudest voice to stand up for Barron was not a conservative but Chelsea Clinton.
To which Melania responded with a heartbreaking message thanking Chelsea and asking all Americans to stop bullying kids, especially her son Barron. “Thank you @ChelseaClinton – so important to support all of our children in being themselves! #StopChildhoodBullying, the first lady tweeted.

Clothes-shaming is a tactic that REAL bullies are known to both use and share. But clothes-shaming is not exclusively used by just REAL bullies. It is something that children, teenagers and normal, caring adults also use quite often.

The way to tell the difference is by their motive. i.e.; Adults correctly referred to as "bullies", have a level of psychopathy. They lack or have a diminished ability to experience caring, empathetic feelings for others. Being so very differently motivated, Real bullies think of things like their clothes, as being so much more than just something to wear. Real (psychopathic) Bullies, who use clothes-shaming as a bullying tactic, will bring it to a much nastier level and in ways that most people can't even imagine.

On the other hand, people who are motivated by normal caring feelings, will use angry behaviors or tactics that leave little, if any, consequence or lasting harm. Have you ever seen teenage siblings quarreling and teasing each other over the appearance and ownership of their clothes? It's quite common and normal.

In Barron's case, an adult journalist "calls out" an 11 year old child's clothes, by publishing a critical article and photographs. This is not something that can be easily dismissed as something innocent. When that child is the son of The President of The United States, all doubt is removed. And the harmful possibilities are endless!

Let's Learn to Recognize it, Name it, and End Workplace or Adult Bullying and Mobbing,
Where Ever It May Be, or Form it Should Take, Together!
